Mitchell is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Bigcommerce. Sane is a great book for entrepreneurs as he talks from his experience on how to scale up businesses, How to really think long term, How to think positively and how to create a great culture for your company. There are lots of great insights in the book which I highly recommend everyone to read!
Sane is my favourite type of book. Short, to the point and filled with valuable insights, Mitchell hasd built a huge business (BigCommerce) and the tips he has in this book in particular his hiring and management ideas/philosophy have given me a lot more clarity on how to build/grow and mange my own team. Fantastic book, highly recommend it!
If you are or want to be a founder or entrepreneur you need to read this. SANE gives you great, actionable information in an easily digestible format that WILL change your business. I read a book a week to make sure I'm learning and developing as a founder, and I consider it a win if I have just one key take away from each. SANE is full of them - on planning, hiring, SEO strategies and more. In true Mitchell Harper fashion, there is also access to a hugely valuable tool given to readers at the end of the book.
I have been following Mitchell Harper for some months (posts, newsletters, webinars...) and, IMHO, he is one of the experts that is offering more value nowadays in digital business industry. This book is a really good summary of the value he is offering in his different channels so I definitely recommend it if you are interested in being a successful entrepreneur.
Just reading this book won't make you a successful digital business owner. But if you are truly committed to grow (or create) your online business, and you need some kind of inspiration and know how to do it, is a really good place to start. But if you are not decided to take action and do whatever it takes to move to the next level, then this book is not for you.
Mitch is one of those rare guys in the world that build great multi-million dollar businesses while advocating and living a fulfilled work-life integration.
This book will walk you through all the steps a founder or an aspiring founder would need to build a business, step by step, from staying focused, to defining a vision and strategy that everyone should align to, how to reduce stress and be patient to how to build a predictable customer acquisition machine. You will also learn how to build a great culture and hire great talent. I discovered this book after following Mitch for a while, and he always produces great no BS content in his mission to help 1000000 founders. Thanks Mitch for all your efforts. You deserve to make it big in your businesses and your personal life.
Mitchell's book "Sane" is an amazing read. In the book, he talks about all the critical elements about scaling a business the way you want to so that you can live the life you want as opposed to being entirely consumed by your business with little time left for anything else. The book talks about what to focus on the most as a CEO, how to live by your definition of success as opposed to other people's definition of success, how to de-stress, how to build the right culture in your business, the importance of having a predictable sales and marketing system, how to hire and delegate work and the importance of having defensive marketing tools such as a podcast, resource section or whatever else may be most suitable for your business.
The 2 most important takeaways I had was how to let go of fear in your business (hint ask what's the worst that could happen) and how to focus on your customers instead of always thinking about your competition. I did what Mitchell suggested - "Talk to customers who love what you do and the positivity will rub off on you." And it did!
I shall come back to this book again in future!
